·         Under Course, click on the course you need (for example, 110 – Principles of Biology

·         Under Section, click on the section you need (for example, I01 – Jamie Anderson).  The section will show you the section number and the instructor name.

The information in the Section will show you all the material you need for your class with the possible categories:

·         Required.  This material is needed for your class.  Your instructor has told the bookstore that students need to purchase this material to be successful in their class.

·         Optional.  This material is not required for your class, but you may want to purchase it.  Most items noted as Optional are materials that some students find helpful.  Maybe your instructor provides all the materials you need for your class without any cost, but you feel more comfortable with a physical copy of a text.  This is an optional book.  You can be successful without it, but we provide the option of other materials.  Often with Optional materials, it is best to attend class before you purchase to determine whether or not you might need them.

·         Choice.  One of the choices is required for your class.  You may choose a code or a physical book or an ebook.  Choose what you feel is right for you for this specific class.  You may want a book for a math class, but feel completely comfortable with digital materials for English.  It’s your choice.

·         Prepaid.  This option denotes that you have prepaid for your materials as part of your tuition.  No action is needed on your part.  You will receive the materials you need via Moodle from your instructor.  This is informational only.

·         Suggested.  This option is provided for some instructors that have supplemental materials that the instructor suggests you purchase.  These materials are not required, but the instructor thinks would help you be successful.

Your text with the associated cost is listed.  We highly recommend that you purchase your materials from the WCC bookstore.  We guarantee materials.  If your instructor decides to remove a course material from the class or if we have the wrong text associated with a class, you can return the material(s) for a full refund.  Our materials are authentic.

You must use your STUDENT ID email when purchasing course materials with the method of Student account.  This is to ensure the safety of your financial aid.  You must also use your student email account. This also ensures that your course materials are sent to you correctly.

The comments section can be used to let you know that you want a code emailed, that you want to pick up at Ashe or Alleghany instead of Wilkes or anything else you think we should know about your order.

Your order will be processed by a bookstore associate as quickly as possible.  We do not process orders after bookstore hours or when the bookstore is closed.  You will receive an email when the order is complete to let you know that it is ready for pickup or has been shipped.

A NOTE ABOUT EBOOKS AND ACCESS CODES:  When you purchase a code or ebook from the bookstore webpage, you will not instantaneously receive your code.  The order will be processed as quickly as possible.  We will email codes to your student email account, if you request it.  Please note that codes that are emailed are not returnable.  No codes that are opened can be returned.

If you choose in-store pickup, your order will be ready as soon as you get your order email.  All orders are processed in the Wilkes bookstore location, but in the comments section of your order, you can specify to pick up your orders at either the Ashe or Alleghany bookstore, if you choose.

Please pick up your items as quickly as possible.  When you come to the bookstore, please tell the associate that you are here to pick up an online order.  This will expedite the process and make sure that we get you the right material.  You can come to the buyback (order) window in Wilkes or into the bookstore.

How to use codes

Many course materials are delivered via access codes or through your Moodle account.  Access codes take many forms:  physical card, code in an envelope, code given by your instructor, and many more ways.  Please pay attention to the instructions on the code that you receive or if you do not receive a code, please check Moodle or ask your instructor for access instructions.
